Natural Beauty- My Tropic Journey
This has been a long time coming…
After completing my Reiki Teacher Training in 2012 I became increasingly sensitive on all levels.
When I returned home after travelling around South and Central America for a year and a half I vowed not to buy any new products for my body, hair or face (and even house) that contained nasty chemicals.
I knew this would cost a lot to replace everything so I decided to use what I had and only buy something when I ran out. Taking a while but meaning I would be able to have a fully vegan range of beauty products in a few years.
You can check out the Think Dirty app to see the ratings of the products you currently use and the 0 ratings (chemical free) for Tropic products. https://www.thinkdirtyapp.com/
I did some research and came across Tropic. I met my first ambassador who became a friend and showed me how incredible these products are.
For 7 years now I have been using Tropic makeup and skincare and would never go back.
These products are vegan, non- toxic and definitely not tested on animals. They are made in the UK with ingredients from all over the world only from places where there is an abundance of them.
“We believe in being a force for good beyond beauty in everything we do. From sustainably sourcing our ingredients to bringing you freshly made products that are truly kind to your skin, our brand beliefs reflect the impact we want to have in the beauty industry and beyond.”
When I started using this brand I was amazed. After only using branded products from Boots or department stores I didn’t believe anything natural, especially not makeup, could be as high quality.
How wrong I was. The Tropic products I started with were leaps ahead in quality than ANYTHING I had used before, along with having no nasty chemicals to help preserve the ingredients, so nothing harmful to my skin. The cost ended up being the same as those branded products I was using, but without the impact to the environment and toxicity to my body.
Now seven years on I have pointed many people to these wonderful products that I have loved for such a long time. I have finally taken the plunge to become an ambassador for these products which help me feel great. There are so many to choose from now back from when I started my journey with Tropic. At the moment I am in love with all of the skincare range which is tailored to your skin type. My current favourites are the Clear Skin face mask and the Super Greens facial oil which after using only once my friend (who saw me weekly) commented on my skin saying it was glowing and asking what I’d done differently.
If anyone has any questions or would like to come and join me in my new Tropic facebook group or even hop on an online Pamper gathering please do get in touch as I know you will love them just like I do.
Susie Ma, the founder of Tropic Skincare says “I have always felt that my inspiration for Tropic came from two places. The first was my grandma, a medicinal chemist and toxicologist, who always taught me that, like our bodies, our skin needs feeding with healthy, nourishing and, most importantly, natural ingredients. The second inspiration behind my skincare recipes stems from my upbringing and childhood hometown of Cairns in Tropical North Queensland, Australia. From fresh aloe vera plants to exotic fruit trees, the abundance of natural ingredients in the environment I grew up in had a huge effect on the products I would later create.”
Tropic also double offset their carbon emissions, are involved in many social projects, including building schools in areas of need and already have many refillable packaging on their products with many more to come.
So if anyone does buy skincare, body care, hair care, makeup or sunscreen, next time you run out of something please think about trying these wonderful products. For anyone who lives close to me I can even drop some around for you to try for free before you buy (even know there’s a 90 day money back guarantee at the moment). All of this is by no means to shame or guilt anyone if you are still using non- natural products, just a gentle reminder that there is another way to still feel good, look good and do no harm to our planet.
